This “Praying with Imagination” Advent retreat invites you to step away and allow yourself the privilege of quiet reflection as you engage with scripture stories using your imagination. Sr. Joy uses storytelling to imaginatively re-tell gospel stories in ways that refresh what has perhaps become too familiar, giving attention to the reality that Jesus was human like us. Joy will use stories that can help us experience the Advent season in a new way.
Led by Sister Joy Clough, A Sister of Mercy of the WMW Community.
Joy is a writer and storyteller, the author of several books, and a professional communicator who has served both the Sisters of Mercy and the Archdiocese of Chicago. Her gospel-based stories have delighted listeners gathered at retreat centers, parishes, retirement facilities, and academic setting. In addition to her storytelling ministry, Joy’s retirement activities include volunteering at a food pantry worker, visiting incarcerated undocumented immigrants, and leading programs as a forest preserve naturalist.
