About Us

Mission
To provide a tranquil environment of hospitality and healing in the Mercy Tradition, where groups and individuals of all faiths can engage in prayer, reflection and dialogue for personal, communal and global transformation.

Vision
To be a thriving oasis of vibrant spirituality which is expansive, integrative, inclusive and responsive to the needs of seekers of peace, personal growth, and development.

Our Why
Mercy is a gift entrusted to us, rooted in the traditions of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy.  We welcome individuals and groups into a tranquil environment of hospitality where personal, spiritual and professional growth can occur.  We believe that when individuals are refreshed and renewed, they can renew their communities and transform our world.

History
Mercy Conference and Retreat Center began its work in 1975 as a ministry of Sisters of Mercy, St. Louis Regional Community.  Housed in what was formerly the community’s motherhouse, novitiate, and junior college since the 1950s, the ministry focused on providing space and services for groups like Marriage Encounter.

Since 2008, Mercy Conference and Retreat Center has been serving guests as an independent, non-profit 501(c)3 organization, designated as a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Mercy - South Central Community. In 2020, we celebrate 45 years of providing hundreds of thousands of guests with a tranquil environment of hospitality and healing in the tradition of the Sisters of Mercy.
