Life on the Brink

Life on the Brink:  Holding the Center in the Midst of the Whirlwind
A Spring Silent Retreat with Avis Clendenen
May 18 - 22, 2020

These retreat days explore our whirlwind of time of magnified uncertainty and shaken faith.  We shall dive deep into the great tales from our biblical and spiritual traditions in search of the embrace of a spirituality brave enough to provide substance and sustenance for our journey.  Presentations are offered visually with narrative, enhanced by music, art, poetry, prayer, story, symbols, ritual and memoir.

Retreat Leader: Avis Clendenen, Professor Emerita of Religious Studies/Saint Xavier University in Chicago, is retired after 35 years of service.  She continues her ministerial life by offering retreats and days of reflection that integrate insights from depth psychology with pathways to spiritual life and growth in every season of living.  Avis is the author of Experiencing Hildegard: Jungian Perspectives and with Irene Dugan, r.c., Love is All Around in Disguise: Meditations for Spiritual Seekers.
